...When the movement of our breath itself
supports us, we can stay in back bend if we want, continuing to open,
continuing to find deeper and deeper levels of strength and release (the
intention I believe behind Iyengar yoga), or we can let the spine fly as
a single breath sends us in whatever direction we chose - the point is,
surely we need to have choice.
It seems to be the kindness to allow our limitations, and
the patience to listen to the breath without ambtion that invites radical
change to our structure. These days, anatomists, body workers and yoga
practitioners alike are beginning to understand this.
